Costume Design for Theater & Film
Dressing it Up

Prague, with its legacy of cultural richness in art and design, architecture, music, literature, film and theater, is the perfect setting for costume design inspiration. Prague boasts over 40 theaters and a number of independent art house cinemas. Numerous film festivals are held in Prague throughout the year, as well as other festivals and theatrical events–including unique productions by the Forman Brothers, sons of famed Czech filmmaker Miloš Forman. Academy Award winning Czech costume designer Theodor Pištěk is best known for his work on 1984’s Amadeus. Former president and playwright, Vaclav Havel invited Pištěk to design the Castle Guard’s uniforms. Participants attend performances at variety of theaters, and film screenings.

Inspired Creations

With a combination of instruction in creative processes and technical training by recognized fashion and costume designers, participants will develop their project and design and create an entire costume including footwear and millinery for a selected film or theater piece.
