Nora Whisnant has a MS degree in Environmental Science and Engineering with research in waste water management. Her MS in Biology included the study of the eradication of schistosomiasis in the San Blas Islands by elimination of the snail vector. She had 13 years experience in clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry in the areas of infectious disease and immunosuppressants. As a second career, she obtained a BSN and practiced nursing in Adolescent Detox and Rehabilitation for 9 years. Nora is a civil rights and justice advocate and for 18 years has been president of local chapters of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund in New Jersey in then in Delaware. In addition to organizing the medical care of refugee children brought to the US for surgery, she also visited camps in the middle east to document needs and arrange for aid.
