Jim Anderson was educated and trained in the art and discipline of design and graphic communication. He practiced and applied his expertise in many fields of art, architecture, urban design and planning. He has spent over 30 years running a successful illustration business with national clients and international projects, and received many awards for excellence in design and illustration work. Previous to his business success, he spent many years in academic pursuits holding positions of associate professor, senior lecturer and adjunct professor teaching design, drawing/painting and illustration technique at university programs in the US, Australia and Europe.
Jim now focuses on sharing his experience in watercolor workshops to beginners as well as experienced painters uncovering the tricks and myths of successful painting. He maintains a private studio and likes to work in watercolor, acrylic and oil mediums when he is not teaching. His keen interest for students is exploring simple color palettes for the highest visual unity and power.
